Well, that sure didn't last long...
Honestly, this has been like watching grown men play musical chairs.
No sooner was Edwin Poots forced to resign as DUP leader and shuffle off into the sunset, than his acolyte, Paul Givan, has had to follow suit.
If I might paraphrase that other Irishman, Oscar Wilde - "For a political party to lose one leader in the space of two weeks may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.”
Or possibly incompetence.
Poots is to be replaced by Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, DUP leader in the Commons.
I would remind him what happened to the last bloke who had his thumb up...
That would be his predecessor. Well, they say God loves an optimist.
I wonder who'll be replacing Givan...
